Courses & Groups

We have a team of 6 staff in our Family & Education team. Together they run a programme of free educational courses, support groups and one-to-one support. This is what's coming up!

EPIC Dad Survival Course

3 sessions from Monday 21st Feb 2022

Join us for this fantastic antenatal class developed just for dads-to-be. Created by our friends at EPIC Dad, the course will see men meet other dads and learn what it means to be a great dad so you can feel ready and equipped when your little one comes along. 

 

Delivered by our dad's worker Andy, all attendees will receive a free Epic dad survival kit! 

The course start time (day or evening) will be determined by the attendees so if you're interested please get in touch with Andy and let him know what suits you.

Carer Support Group

Tuesdays 9.30am - 11am Term-time only

Our carer support group is for any parent that provides care for a child of any age with Additional Needs or SEND. The group is led by Lisa and offers opportunities for mutual support, advice where it's needed and chance to meet with others who may face similar challenges to yourself. The small group is informal, understanding and offers a safe space and free brew. Children under 5 are welcome to attend with you and play during the group.

New Mum Skills course

Tuesdays 12-2pm, 5 sessions

This New Mum Skills course is for first-time mums who have just had (or nearly had) a baby. It includes a free lunch, a small group space to meet other mums and some training and advice from our mums worker Danielle. Danielle's goal is to equip you with the skills, confidence and basics to feel comfortable caring for your new baby and reassurance that you're going to be a wonderful parent. The course is free (including lunch) and starts on 22nd Feb 2022. To join the course or find out more just drop Danielle a message below.

Fatherhood Course

This 6 session Fatherhood course is brought to you by EPIC Dad and delivered by our Dad's worker Andy. It's for dads who want to be the best they possibly can and looks at the everyday challenges and pressures of fatherhood. The course will help to equip, inspire, encourage and empower you to be a great dad and role model for any children in your care.
